Hubert Lee ("Bert") Williams

Mr. Hubert Lee "Bert" Williams, 86 of Monroe, NC died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Kendred Hospital in Chicago, IL.  A Graveside Service will be held 10:00 am Friday, September 27, 2013 at Hillcrest Cemetery, 500 Adams St., Monroe, NC 28110, Dr. Julia Robinson, Eulogist, with full military honors.

"Bert" as he was so fondly called, was born Thursday, July 14, 1927 in Union County, NC, a son of the late James and Betty Williams. He was a US Army Veteran and  retired from the US Postal Service where he served for 35 years and a Public Safety Officer for the City of Monroe, NC,  were he served for 10 years and was also an avid Golfer and a member of Black's Memorial Prebyterian Church, USA of Monroe, NC

He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to; Opal Adams,  the mother of his children; Two daughters; Sherese Creggett (John) and Debra Adams, both of Chicago, IL; Three Sisters; Harriet S. Williams(deseased), Virginia Reed, (Lum) of Monroe, NC and Fannie Simmons of Fountain Square, CO, One Brother James Williams and a Special Brother, Crispulo Mangaser; Neice, Victoria McNeill (Gemetrius);  Nephew, James A. Williams; Four Cousins; Catherine Stokes, Josephine Alsbrooks and Betty Parker all of Monroe, NC and  Ivy Thomas of Sweetport, LA; One Uncle, Charlie Bowman of Marshville, NC and good friends Harry Livingston, (Blondie) of Polkton, NC

A Public viewing will be held 2:00pm to 6:00pm Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC
