MR. JAMES EVERETT MASSEY, 73 of MONROE, NC passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the home of his son in Peachland, NC.
Graveside Services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC.
(Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the Service and Public Viewing are required to wear a mask or facial covering. Also please use the Hand Sanitizing Station when entering and exiting the Funeral Home.)
A public viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Monday, February 8, 2021 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC which is serving the Massey, Brown, Robinson and extended families.
Mr. James Everette Massey, a son of the late William "Bill" and Blanche Brown Massey, was bor on Monday, March 10, 1947 in Monroe, North Carolina. He departed this life on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at the home of his son in Peachland, NC.
James was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Monroe, NC under the leadership of Reverend Larry W. Leake.
James was a very caring and loving in his own special wau. He loved to fellowship with his family. James had a passion for fishing and gardening. If you ever seen him in his car or truck, they were shinning like new money.
James graduated from Winchester High School in 1965. He enlisted in the US Army after high school. He also was employed by Conbraco in Matthews.
One thing about James , he loved the Lord and he realized with his health challenges, that it was all because of God that made it possible for him to be able to enjoy life to it's fullest. He attended church one sunday, with his son and Pastor Clay Parker had a conversation with him about getting right with Jesus. After church, James said to his son, Johnny, "Nothing else matters, I'm alright now."
Those preceding him in death were his parents, one sister, Willie Mae Massey Stevens and two brothers, Donny and Johnny Massey.
He leaves to cherish loving and fond memories, to two sons, Johnny Ray Robinson (Manette) of Peachland, NC and Everette Cornelius Robinson of Monroe, NC; one daughter, LaQuita Renee Eddie of Waldorf, MD; three sisters, Clara Thompson ( Rev. Carnell Thompson) of Charlotte, NC, Pearl Massey of Brooklyn, NY and Victoria Massey of Wingate, NC; three brothers, Alfred Massey (Andrea) of Bronx, NY, Bobby and Tommy Massey, both of Monroe, NC; eight grandchildren, Steven L. Robinson of Lancaster, SC, Jarae M. Massey of Las Vegas, NV, Johnathan J. Hayden of Buford, SC, Zaria Moser Robinson of Waldorf, MD, Marquette Eddie and Marlin Eddie, both of Waldorf, MD, Christopher Robinson of Monroe, NC and Daniel James; three great-grands, Shania K. Cauthen, Marlin Williams and Ryleigh Eddie and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
