James Harrison Peterkin

MR. JAMES HARRISON PETERKIN, 70 of MOUNT GILEAD, NC (Wadeville Community) passed away, Tuesday, January6, 2015, in the Sandy Ridge Assisted Living Facility in Candor, NC. Memorial Service will be held 4 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2015, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel, 2529 NC Hwy 109 South, Mount Gilead, NC 27306, with Minister Joel Peterkin, Nephew, Eulogist.

James was born Saturday, October 21, 1944, in Montgomery County, North Carolina, to the late Harrison Benjamin Peterkin and Bessie Thomas Peterkin.

He was formerly employed at McRae Shoe Factory in Mount Gilead, NC ( Wadeville) as a supervisor.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Eddie Lee Peterkin and one sister, Ila Mae Peterkin.

He leaves to cherish loving and fond memories to his devoted wife, Dorothy Wall Peterkin; a daughter, Cindy Peterkin McBride and husband Gary; a son, James Gregory Peterkin; four sisters; Mrs. Verlina Peterkin Collins, Mrs. Annette Peterkin Monroe, Mrs. Margie Peterkin Legrand (Rev. Johnny) and Ms. Reba Peterkin Dunlap; five grandchildren; Jeffrey Paul Peterkin, Syndel Peterkin, Matthew Peterkin, Dorothea Peterkin, Christopher Peterkin and one other grandson; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Phyllis Covington Peterkin and one brother-in-law, Mr. Gary Covington and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
