Jennie Mae (Baldwin) Hill

MRS. JENNIE MAE BALDWIN HILL, 84 of CANDOR, NC (Dry Creek Community) passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, March 28, 2018 at the Greenlake Congregational Church, 4927 Pekin Rd., Candor, NC.  Interment will follow in the Bruton Cemetery, in Mount Gilead, NC (Wadeville Community).

A public vieiwng will be held 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Mount Gilead, NC.

Jenny Mae was born on June 17, 1933 in Montgomery County, NC, to the late Robert Charles and Ada Butler Baldwin.

She was united in marriage to Jesse Hill, Sr., and to this union. 14 children were born.  Her parents, her husband Jesse Sr,; three sons, Frederick, Johnny and Thomas Hill; a daughter, Cynthia Hill Little; three brothers, James, Oscar and Thomas Baldwin and a sister, Mae Della McCoy; grandson Benji Hill and granddaughter Sonya Hill, all preceded her in death.

She was an active member of Greenlake Congregational Church until her health declined and attended the public schools of Montgomery County and was a graduate of Peabody High School, Troy, NC.  She will be sorely missed.

Those left to honor her memory are 10 children; 6 daughters, Earnestine Cameron (James) of Greensboro, NC, Gracie Hill and Daphne Deberry (Tobias )Horne all of Asheboro, NC, Selma Hill of Candor, NC and Mary and Martha Hill of the home; four sons, Jesse Hill, Jr., Ivory Hill and Antonio Hill (Bridget) all of Candor, NC and Robert Hill(Tonnett) of Sanford, NC; one sister, Inez Marshall of Troy, NC ; sister-in-law, Josephine Baldwin of Candor, NC; daughters-in-law, Sheila Hill of Troy, NC and Vanessa Hill of Candor, NC; son-in-law, Richard Little of Mt. Gilead, NC; 30 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, special family friend, Ms. Almetta Armstrong of Candor, NC. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
