Jessie was born and reared in Lancaster South Carolina on Tuesday, February 2, 1926.  She was a student in the Lancaster School System and her education was elevated by God's divine wisdom.  Jessie married Henry B. Harris in 1947 and had five children.  She was part of the northward migration in the 1040's and 50's in search of work.  Jessie  became a domestic and later a factory worker at the Ideal Toy Factory and the Precision Manufacturing Company in Queens, NY.

She and her six children spent the last years celebrating Christ in their living and their deeds.  Glorious Tabernacle Church was the foundation for their spiritual growth.  There they ministered and taught the word of God giving many of us who remain a springboard to salvation.  She left us to know that honor need not be for the famous and well educated alone, but to a truly humble, kind, God-fed, country woman with little more than here heart to offer.  She was well known in the modest neighborhood, often seen gathering litter from the streets nearby and tending her flowers.

Jessie leaves many to honor her time here on earth, four of her children, Shero Morris, Johnnie Clyburn (Francis), Linda Patterson and Regina Barrett (Oscar).  Her husband Henry and her son Lonnie preceded her passing.  She was the only sister remaining of the six sisters and two brothers who also preceded her in death and they were; Will Clyburn, RB Clyburn, Ethel Sinclair, Nannie Bell Ellis, Katie Williams, Evy Flowers, Loriece Morgan and Muriel Gawronski.  In addition are 19 grandchildren, 30+ great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.   Her life was blessed with nieces and nephews, who loved her and looked to her for spiritual guidance and inspiration of which she so freely gave.  In reflection, hearth death has freed her to live, no longer trapped in the dressing of flesh, her spirit took it's rightful place in eternity on December 15, 2017.  Praise God!
