MRS. JESSIE MAE COX HOUGH, 88 of WINGATE, NC passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at CHS-Main in Charlotte, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 3:30pm Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Piney Grove East Missionary Baptist Church, 1708 Ansonville Rd., Marshville, NC 28103. Dr. Matthew Rouse, III, Pastor, Eulogist.   Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. A public viewing will be held 1:00pm to 7:00pm Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Born Monday, June 13, 1927 in Union County, NC, she was one of fourteen children of the late James Sylvester, Sr., and Jessie Parker Cox.

She leaves to cherish loving and fond memories to her daughter; Elaine Cox-Brown of the home; and a brother; Newel Cox (Virginia) of Freeport, NY, and several grandchildren, one sister in law; Marjorie Cox of Monroe, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
