John Henry (" Beanie ") Carpenter

MR. JOHN HENRY CARPENTER, 61 of MOUNT GILEAD, NC, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Autumn Care in Biscoe, NC.  Funeral Services will be held 1pm Sunday, December 20, 2015, at Snow Hill AME Zion Church, 204 Snow Hill Church Rd., Mount Gilead, NC 27306.  Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. A public vieiwing will be held 12 noon to 7pm Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC

Born Tuesday, April 20, 1954 in Richmond County, NC, he was a son of the late Isiah, Sr. and Catherine McBride Carpenter.

" Beanie ", as he was fondly called by all who knew him, attended the public schools of Richmond and Montgomery Counties.  After graduation, he relocated to Bridgeport, CT., and was employed as a mechanic for many years until his health began to decline in 1990.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mary Catherine and  Cornelia Carpenter; one brother, Isiah Carpenter, Jr., and one sister-in-law, Jacqueline McRae Carpenter.

" Beanie " leaves cherished memories to his four children; John, Jr., Malik, Samantha and Paris Carpenter, all of Bridgeport, CT;  one grandson, Darrell Jester of Bridgeport, CT; two dedicated sisters, Brenda Faye Wall (John) and Kathy Carpenter, all of Mt. Gilead, NC; two brothers, Johnny Carpenter of Rocky Mount, NC and Jethro Carpenter of Trenton, NJ; one sister-in-law, Linda Billie Carpenter of Mt. Gilead, NC; one aunt, Nora Bowden of Bridgeport, CT; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
