John Martin Parker

John Martin "Tony" Parker, 43 of Monroe, NC, died Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC.  John was the Owner of Affordable Dry Cleaners of Monroe, NC and Marshville, NC, and a former Member of the Union County Board of Education. John was born in Union County, NC April 24, 1969, a son of Betty Jean Baker Parker and the late Johnny Lee Parker.   He was a 1988 graduate of Monroe High School and attended Devry University in Decatur, GA and later attended Brookstone College School of Business where he earned a business certificate in accounting  technology in 1990. He was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist in Monroe, NC and was a loving and supportive person. John received many Civic and Community Awards and Recognitions.

He leaves to cherish his memory, wife;  Dionne Bloomfield Parker of the home; three sons; John Parker, II and wife Ashley of Charlotte, NC, Logan Parker of Monroe, NC and Codi Bryan of the home; his mother; Betty Parker of Monroe, NC; two brothers; Corinthian Parker and wife Irma of Indian Trail, NC and Octavius Parker and wife Amelia of Spencer, NC; nieces and nephews; Vanessa B. Laney and husband Mike;  Netika, Jasmine, Brianna and CJ; and a special recognition goes to adopted brother, Captain William Thompson and wife Shenetta of Waxhaw, NC, and children Tierra and Arianna, and a host of family and friends who relish his memory.

In consideration of the passing of Mr. Parker, Affordable Dry Cleaners of Monroe, NC and Marshville, NC,  will be closed on Thursday, September 27, 2012 and Friday, September 28, 2012 and will re-open on Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 8 am to 12 noon.  The  Parker family do apologize for any inconvience.

Funeral Services will be held 1pm Friday, September 28, 2012, at Centeral United Methodist Church, 801 S. Hayne St. in Monroe,NC with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.  Public viewing will be held Thursday, September 27, 2012, 11am to 7pm,  at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe.
