John Frank Rush

MR. JOHN FRANK RUSH, 83 of MT. GILEAD, NC, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020, in the Autumn Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Biscoe, NC.

A Private Service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at the Harris Funeral Home Chapel in MT. Gilead, NC with Private Interment in the Mount Zion AME Zion Church Cemetery in the (Pee Dee Community) MT. Gilead, NC

John Frank, a son of the late Frank Rush and Lucy Lilly Rushk was called from his earthly home to his eternal life on Friday, April 3, 2020, in the Auitumn Care of Biscoe, in Boiscoe, North Carolina.  He was born on August 5, 1936, in Montgomery County, North Carolina.

John Frank joined Mt. Zion AME Zion Church in the Pee Dee Community of Mt. Gilead, NC and attended the Public Schools of Montgomery County and graduated from Peabody High School, Troy, NC.  He was truly loved and will be missed.

John Frank was known for his incredible fishing skills and ability.  One of  his best  friends was his cousin Donnie McAuley of Pee Dee.

John Frank was preceded in death by his son, John Frank Rush, Jr., and two siblings, Eddie Rush and sister, Annette Rush; three nieces. Magena Baldwin, Mary Ellerbe Hinson and Cynthia Ellerbe Ewing.

He leaves to cherish loving and fond memories to his two sisters, Pansie Delight Rush Ellerbe of Mt. Gilead, NC and Willette Rush of Star, NC; three nieces,  Minister Khaleelah Johnson (Min. Johnny) of Decatur, GA, Lucy Bailey (Joe) of Garner, NC and Alice James (Horace) of Mt. Gilead, NC; four nephews, Roger Ellerbe Dan, of Salisbury, NC, Doug Ellerbe (April) of Charlotte, NC, Mario "Ronnie" Ellerbe (Angie) of Greenville, SC and Leonard Baldwin of Mt. Gilead, NC and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends.

Harris Funeral Home and Cremations of MT. Gilead, NC, is assisting the Rush, and extended families.
