MR. JULIUS RIVERS, JR., 66 of PAGELAND, SC passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Atrium Health / Union in Monroe, NC.
A memorial service in his honor will be held 4:00 pm Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the Flag Branch Missionary Baptist Church, 2619 Old Pageland Monroe Rd., Monroe, NC 28112.
Julius, Jr. a native of Chesterfield County, SC a son of the late Julius Rivers, Sr. and Katie Lee Ratliff Rivers was educated in the Public Schools of Chesterfield County, SC and Anson-Stanly Community College where he studied Accounting. He was employed with WTI Transportation Company as a truck driver.
Over the years he has resided in Monroe, NC and spent most of his life living in Pageland, SC where he lived since birth. He was saved at a tender age and enjoyed attending worship services, preaching and studying the word of God. Artist in his own right, he loved drawing and sculpting clay, fishing and working on various mechanical projects
Julius Rivers, Jr. married Annie M. Starnes at a young age and from this union he had three daughters; Sonya M. (Rivers) Elliott, Roxanne (Rivers) Colllins and Samatha Chasity Rivers ( deceased). Later in his life he united into Holy Matrimonty with the late Linda (Long) Rivers and shared his final days with his companion Vickey Faulkenbury.
He leaves to cherish his beloved memories to his daughters, Sonya (Rivers) Elliott of Charlotte, NC and Roxanne (Rivers) Collins of Harker Heights, TX; four brothers, Winford (Goldie) Rivers of Monroe, NC, Curtis (Gina) Rivers, Peter (Shirlene) Rivers and David (Kathy) Rivers all of Pageland, SC; a sister, Barbara Brown of Jefferson, SC; a aunt , Katie Ratliff of Pageland, SC; five grandsons, Julian (Brittany) Rivers of Anchorage, AK, Jarvis Shaquille and Ke' Various (Rivers) all of Monroe, NC and Kevin Frazier, Jr. of Harker Heights, TX; five granddaughters, Quentaya, Quinby (Black), Quadeigah, Quadajah (Rivers) and Quanysha Barrino all of Monroe, NC; a great granddaughter; two great grandsons and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
