MR. JUNIOR EDWARD "Johnny" BUSH, 73 of MONROE, NC passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at CHS Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 503 Maurice St., Monroe, NC 28110. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe, NC. Viewing hours for Mr. Bush will be held 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, June 23, 2017 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.
Junior Edward Bush, (Johnny) went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, June 16, 2017, surrounded by family.
Junior was born on Saturday, March, 18, 1944, in Cherryville, NC., to the late Johnny Edward Bush and Vergie Gilliard Bush.
As a youth, he played football, basketball and worked on a farm. He graduated from John Chavis High School Class of 1962.
Junior met Mamie Doster and the two married August 18, 1985. From this Union came a blended family of four children, Vincient, Deanna, Stephanie and Katrina.
He was predeceased by a brother, Willie Lee Bush and brothers-inlaw, Ansel Houser and Jason Richard Doster, Sr.
Saved and baptized at an early age at Zionhill Baptist Church in Cherryville, NC. Junior became a member of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church in 1996. He was a faithful member that loved his church family very much. As a member at Elizabeth, he was a member of the Men's Choir, a faithful Usher and President of Transportation.
He was a member of the Hope Lodge #32 in Monroe, where he served in various appointed positions; honorary Past Excellent High Priest of Poston Chapter #50, Holy Royal Arch Masons of Monroe. He was advanced to the 32nd Degree Sublime Prince of Carpenter Consistory of #164, in Maxton, NC.
Junior retired from the Charlotte Area Transit System, (CATS) in Charlotte, NC in 2012. After retirement, he continued to work part-time as a driver with Union County Transportation until his passing.
Junior leaves to cherish his loving memory a devoted wife of 32 years, Mamie Doster Bush; four children, Vincient E. Bush of Gastonia, NC, Deanna S. Rollins of Cherryville, NC, Stephanie D. Silas (Jewel) of Monroe, NC and Katrina D. Harrell (Julius) of Charlotte NC; five Siblings, Charles E. Bush of Cherryville, NC, Shirley B. Bailey (Floyd) of Charlotte, NC, Bonnie Mae Whisnant( Ray "Fox") of Cherryville, NC, Jonnie Mae Houser of Kings Mountain, NC, and Darlene B. Smith( Wayne) of Gastonia, NC; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Bush of Cherryville, NC, Helen Collins of Monroe, NC, and Rose Burns (Grady) of Matthews, NC; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
