MRS. KATHERINE JEAN WILLIAMS MINTZ, 69 of MONROE, NC passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Novant Health Main in Charlotte, NC.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Essence of the Cross Ministries, 2310 Appian Lane, Monroe, NC 28110. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe, NC.
A public viewing will be held 2:00pm to 7:00pm Friday, September 2, 2016 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe.
Katherine was born on Tuesday, July 29, 1947, in Lugoff, South Carolina, to the late Cora and Andrew Williams.
Her favorite song was " Since I gave my heart to Jesus, I am alright now." Her favorite scripture was Jeremiah 33:3, Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know."
In 1963, Katherine moved to Brooklyn, NY. There she met the love of her life and later united in holy matrimony to David W. Mintz, on June 17, 1070.
She accepted Jesus Christ in her life at the age of 23 at Goodwill Pentecostal Church of Christ in Brooklyn, NY. She later joined Essencew of the Cross Ministries where she continued tp serve the Lord until now. She loved the Lord in multiple capacities while at Essence of the Cross Ministries, particularly as Deacon and Spiritual Mother.
She loved and cherished her family and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will always be remembered by her grandson Reginald Taylor, Jr., and her granddaughter, Jazmine Mintz. One brother preceded her in death, Robert Williams.
Mother Mintz leaves one daughter, Tara Mintz-Steward of Monroe, NC and a son-in-law, Michael Steward; one daughter-in-law, Ida Williams; two sons, Derrick Williams of Marshville, NC and Isaac M. Mintz of Washington, DC; one god-daughter, Tierra Taylor Butchee of Greensboro, NC; one sister, Dorothy Switzer of Brooklyn, NY; adopted children in Christ, Anthony and Melinda Alderman, Shirlene N. Bryant, Michael Alston Eddie and Kimberly Smith; 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Special thanks to Apostle Kaye McDonald and Aunt Frances B. Harris. Everything is possible through complete devotion to the Lord and never ending support.
