MR. LACY STEELE, JR., 83 of MOUNT GILEAD, NC passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Thomasville Missionary Baptist Church, 233 Thomasville Church Rd., Mount Gilead, NC 27306.
Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. A public viewing will be held 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, November 16, 2018 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Mount Gilead, NC.
Our Heavenly Father, who is perfect in all actions, saw fit to bring into the world, the life of Mr. Lacy Steele, Jr. Born on Tuesday, May 14, 1937, in Montgomery County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Lacy Steele, Sr., and Elesteen Pankey Steele. His earthly life came to a close on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at his home after a lengthy illness,
Lacy confessed Christ at an early age and joined Thomasville Missionary Baptist Church and attended the public schools of Montgomery County. He was formerly employed by Jacob Creek Stone Company in Denton, NC, Troy Lumber Company Troy, NC and Norman Lumber Company, Norman, NC.
Lacy enjoyed spending time outside completing yard work, working on cars and raising farm animals.
Those preceding him in death are his parents; brother, Frank Steele; sister-in-law, Blenda LeGrand Steele; sister Hattie J. Steele; best friend, Barbara Ann House; aunts and uncles.
Those left to cherish and to honor his memories are two sons, Osman El-Amin of Mexico and Corey House of Mt. Gilead, NC; daughters, Adrena Little (Rev. Chester) of Candor, NC, Tiya House of Durham, NC, Rita House (Gerrius) of Albemarle, NC, Yolanda Johnson, Kimberly Steele-Wiggins and Anita Steele-Hill all of Philadelphia, PA; god children, Pamela Metz and Ricky House; two sisters, Pauline S. Mack of Greensboro, NC and Mary S. Woods of New Jersey; a brother, Peter Steele of Albemarle, NC; one sister-in-law, Della Steele of Mt. Gilead, NC; 9 granddaughters, Destiny, Nakeya, Anaesia, A'Miracle, Saleema, Alexandria, Anissa, Teddi and Antonia; 4 grandsons, David, Octavius, Sherrod, Numayr and one great-grandson, Unique, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
