Latoya Michelle Wiggins

MISS LATOYA MICHELLE WIGGINS 32 of ALBEMARLE, NC passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019 in Miami, FL.  Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 39289 Wright Rd., New London, NC 28127.

Visitation will be held 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm in the Church Sanctuary prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the Oakview Cemetery, 45200 Gadson Rd., New London, NC.

A public viewing will be held 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of MT. Gilead, NC, which is serving the Wiggins, Brown, Carpenter and extended families.

Born Sunday, October 19, 1986 in Philadelphia, PA a daughter of Shawn Brown and Felisicia Tonya Wiggins.  She came home to Badin, NC and attended New London Elementary School and at the age of 10 she moved to Charlotte, NC and continued her education to High School at Garinger High School.  Latoya was a bright beautiful young lady that believed in dancing to the beat of her own drum. The sound of her drum changed when she gave birth to her own daughter Artajiah M. Wiggins with Arthur Anderson, Jr. on June 29, 2007.  Latoya and Arthur shared the resposibility of loving and the importance of being parents to Artajiah.

Toya loved life and she wasn't afraid to live but on October 6, 2019 her life was taken in an untimely manner. She was also preceded in death by her Maternal Great-grandparents; Julius and Lucille Carpenter, Paternal Great-grandmother; Clyde Maryweather Christian, Maternal Grandparents Ravon Carpenter and Shirley Wiggins, Paternal Grandfather; Richard Jackson. Two Uncles; Willie Wiggins and Henry Andre Brown and a Aunt; Lisa Moore.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her daughter Artajiah Wiggins of Albemarle, NC, Mother; Felisicia Tonya Wiggins of Charlotte, NC, Father; Shawn Brown (Devita) of Albemarle, NC, Brothers; Montez Brooks, Antoine Sloan both of  Charlotte, NC and Markez Brown of Raleigh, NC, Sisters; Rachel Shelton of Laurel, MD and Destiny Brown of Albemarle, NC, Paternal Grandmother; Christine Conner of Mooresville, NC, Uncles; Kevin Washington of Badin, NC and Timothy Brown of Albemarle, NC, Aunts; Nakura Wiggins of Raleigh, NC, Ava Boulware of Winston-Salem, NC, Tonya Brown and Tracy Conner both  of Mooresville, NC. A special Aunt; Tosha Wiggins of Charlotte, NC, Five Nieces, Five Nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
