Lee Brutus (" Bill") Crowder

MR. LEE BRUTUS  " Bill " CROWDER, 69 of WINGATE, NC died Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Woodridge Assistant Living in Monroe, NC.  Funeral Service will be held 3pm Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Piney Grove East Missionary Baptist Church, 1708 Ansonville Rd., Marshville, NC 28103. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Public viewing will be held 11am to 7pm Tuesday, July 23, 2014 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe.

" Bill" , as he was fondly called by everyone, was born May 11, 1945, in Union County, North Carolina, to the late Thomas Alexander Crowder and Bertha Ashcraft Crowder.  Bill attended East Union School in Marshville, North Carolina and joined Nicey Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

He was employed by MaLeck for 21 years, Carolina Insulation for 8 years.  He was also employed by Norton Controls until his retirement in 2007.

Lee's memories will be cherished by his wife, Helen Crowder; three sons, Dennis of Badin, Harold (Denise), Christopher (Mary), all of Wingate, North Carolina; three daughters, Gloria Tyson (Christopher), Denise Williams (late Darryl), all of Wingate, North Carolina, Demetria Frazier (James) of Indian Trail, North Carolina; one sister, Burdia Evans (Deacon Wilbert); one brother, John Calvin (Ernestine) of Monroe, North Carolina; 17 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
