MR. LEE LESTER HEATH, 92 of MONROE, NC passed away Monday, April 11, 2022 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the Union Springs A.M.E. Zion Church, 4003 Morgan Mill Road, Monroe, NC. Mr. Heath's remains will lie in repose 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the church prior to the service. Military Honors and Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe, NC.
(Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the Services and Public Viewing are required to wear a mask or facial covering. Also please use the Hand Sanitizing Station when entering and exiting the Funeral Home.)
A public viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Friday, April 15, 2022 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC.

Mr. Lee Lester Heath , the son of the late Bennie and Hattie Heath, was born on Wednesday, October 2, 1929 in Waxhaw, NC.
Lee Lester was also known as "Buddy" to his grandchildren. Lee Lester served his country proudly in the Korean War. After serving his country, Lee Lester met his soulmate Magenia Patterson in 1955. As God would predestined it, the two became one on June 25, 1955.
Lee Lester worked for the City of Monroe in the Water Department. He retired from the City of Monroe in 1992. Lee Lester joined Union Springs A.M.E. Zion Church at an early age, where he held various positions such as a member of the Trustee Board and Steward Board. Lee Lester will also be known for his lush, well-manicured lawn, beautiful flower beds, vegetable garden and his famous sweet tea.
Lee Lester was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Hattie Heath; three brothers, James Heath, Thomas G. Heath and Albertine Heath; two sisters, Esther Lee (Lee Lester's twin sister) and Ona Lee Redmon.
Left to cherish Lee Lester's memories; Magenia, his wife of 66 years; three sons, Bennie Lee Heath of Monroe, NC, Wayne Heath of Durham, NC and Calvin Heath of Monroe, NC; three daughters, Shirley Heath and Theresa Heath, both of Monroe, NC and Frankie Heath of Marshville, NC; one brother-in-law, Herbert (Shelia) Barcus of Irvington, NJ; four sisters-in-law, Mary Barcus of Newark, NJ, David L. Cooper of Hillside, NJ, Betty Cokley of Nesmith SC and and Virginia B. Canteen of Scarnton, SC; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
