Leland (Hamilton) Hubbard

November 29, 1928 — May 20, 2021

MRS. LELAND HAMILTON HUBBARD, 92 of MARSHVILLE, NC passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Atrium Health / Union in Monroe, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the First Church of God, 113 Booker St., Marshville, NC.  Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Hubbard Service will be Live Streamed on the Face Book page @ Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

(Due to COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the Service and Public Viewing are required to wear a mask or facial covering.  Also please use the Hand Sanitizing Station when entering and exiting the Funeral Home.)

A public viewing  will be held 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC which is serving the Hubbard, Hamilton and extended families.

Sister Leland Mae Hamilton Hubbard, a former resident of Marshville, NC, is now a permanent resident in the arms of Jesus.  She was born on Thursday, November 29, 1928 in Marshville,NC.

She was one of eight children born to Mr. Brady Love Hamilton and Mrs Mary Frances Parker Hamilton.  Sister Leland's siblings; Brady Love Hamilton, Jr.(Treva), Ray Hamilton, Nora Washington, Odessa George, Mamie Joseph, Mable White, Jewel Tomlinson and Millard Hamilton.

She was an aide worker through the Union County Council on Aging for many years.  She understood the plight of the elderly.  She loved her family.  She didn't say it in words but she proved it in deeds.

She dedicated her life to Christ in her middle age and remained faithful until the end.  Her favorite Bible verse was Matthew 19:30. "But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first."  For many years of service in the church, she read poetry.  Her signature ending if the poems was "And I Quote".

She was married to Moses Granford Hubbard, who preceded her in death.  She was the mother of six children; Homer Odell, deceased as an infant; Effie Dean Hubbard of Matthews, NC, Jerry Granford Hubbard (Coralene) of Monroe, NC, Perrie Mae Hubbard Crowder (widow) of Raleigh, NC, Linda Hubbard Mosley (widow) of Monroe, NC and Elizabeth Ann Hubbard McManus (Marvin) of the home.  She considered herself to be the mother to Rev. Paul Hamilton (Geraldine).  She was blessed with 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren.  Her final word before departure was "Blessed".
