MR. LEON LEE LILLY, 73 of MT. GILEAD, NC , passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Atrium Health / Main, Charlotte, NC.
Graveside Services will be held 12:00 pm Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the MT. Zion AME Zion Church Cemetery (Pee Dee Community) 6748 Highway 73 West MT. Gilead, NC.
(Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the service must wear a mask or facial covering also during the Public viewing at the Funeral Home and please use hand sanitizing station when entering and exiting the Building).
A public viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of MT. Gilead, NC which is serving the Lilly, Tyson and extended families.
Mr. Leon Lee Lilly, now stands in the Grandstand of Heaven, rejoicing in his new home. We must not mourn as those without hope for Lee has gone to get his reward as promised to all who faithfully loved the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Lee, a son of the late Dorseph Lilly, Sr., and the late Ida Mae Tyson Lilly, was born on Sunday, November 2, 1947, in Montgomery County, NC.
He was educated in the Montgomery County Public Schools. He was employed as the Head Chef in Vidant Memorial Hospital for 27 years in Mt, Holly , New Jersey, and Jacob Creek Flagstone for 5 years in Denton, NC. He loved to cook.
Those preceding him in death were his parents and 8 siblings. He will be sorely missed.
Lee leaves to cherish loving memories to his children; three sons, Raymond Leon Miller of Mt. Holly, NJ, Tyrone Davis Brown of Philadelphia, PA and Troy Dorseph Brown of Willingboro, NJ; two daughters, Shanta Gramling (Chuckie) of Hagerstown, MD and Shaniko Brown Nuness (Tyson) of Willingboro, NJ; three brothers, Dorseph Lilly, Jr..(Rebecca) Bobby Lilly and Charlie Lilly, all of Mt. Gilead, NC; four sisters, Rometta Dean of Philadelphia, PA, Evelyn Butler of Biscoe, NC, Connie Stanback of Mt. Gilead, NC and Pecolia McLendon (William) of Ansonville, NC; 14 grandchildren, 13 nieces, 9 nephews, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends, Gary Hinson, Lee Collins, Robert Baldwin, Kenny McDonald, Larry McDonald and Tommy Robinson.
