Leonard Kilgo, Jr.

Mr. Leonard Kilgo, Jr.,  74 of Matthews, NC died Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews, NC. Funeral Services will be held 2:30pm Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, 520 Billy Howey Rd., Wesley Chapel, NC 28104, with Visitation 2:00pm to 2:30pm prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Henderson Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Mint Hill, NC.

Born in Union County, NC, Friday, November 25, 1938 a son of the late Leonard Kilgo, Sr. and Leona Watts Kilgo. He attended Western Union High School in Union County, NC and  was married to the late Carrie Stafford Kilgo, also he was a retiree of the Mecklenburg County Public School System.

Survivors include one daughter; Almeta Kilgo of Atlanta, GA; two sisters; Lillie Kilgo Kirkpatrick (Charles), Bessie Kilgo Stinson (Albert) all of Matthews, NC; three brothers; Jimmy Kilgo, James Kilgo (Myrtle) all of Matthews, NC and Douglas Kilgo of Monroe, NC; one grand daughter; Candice Kilgo of Charlotte, NC; three great-grandchildren; NaDarien Kilgo, Adrian Kilgo and Cameryn Kilgo all of Charlotte.  Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe is serving the Kilgo family.
