MRS. LETTIE CROWDER REDFEARN, 94 of MARSHVILLE, NC passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the Flint Ridge Baptist Church, 5720 Flint Ridge Church Road, Marshville, NC. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
A public viewing will be held 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC, which is serving the Crowder, Redfearn and extended families.
Lettie, fondly called " Malette " and "Polly", was born on Monday, December 29, 1924 to the late Paul and Mary Crowder. She exchanged time for eternity on Wednesday May 1, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Percell Redfearn; three daughters, Pearly Mae Redfearn, Marjorie Tyson ans Deland Tyson; two sons, Paul Redfearn and William Redfearn; two sisters, Pearly Mae Crowder and Lillie Mae Collins; three brothers, Paul Crowder, Jr., Willie B. Crowder and Marshall Crowder.
At an early age, Lettie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at Meltonville Baptist Church in Marshville, where she worshipped faithfully for many years. She later married her husband Percell, and continued her journey with Christ as a committed member of Flint Ridge Baptist Church in Marshville. Lettie expressed her love for Christ through song which led her to joining and singing with many choirs through the years. As a true songbird, she always had a song in her heart.
Many decades ago, Lettie married Percell Redfearn and was blessed with ten children, six daughters and four sons. She was a daufghter, mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt and a leader who didin't mind speaking her mind. But mostly, she was a child of God.
Lettie leaves to cherished memories to her three daughters; Debbie Rushing of Marshville, NC, Rebecca Hough (John) of Wingate, NC, Ruth Ellis (Linwood) of Marshville, NC; two sons, Cleveland Redfearn of Wingate, NC and Donald Redfearn; two sisters, Doretha Baker of Marshville, NC and Ollie Mae Little of Trenton, NJ; one brother, Henry Crowder (Eloise) of Charlotte, NC two sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Crowder of Charlotte, NC and Ethel Crowder od Monroe, NC; 24 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family.
