Linda Faye Pemberton

MISS LINDA FAYE PEMBERTON, 71 of MT. GILEAD, NC (Pee Dee Community) , passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021, at her home.

Graveside Services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, February 19, 2021 at the Mount Zion AME Zion Church Cemetery, 6748 NC Hwy 73 West, MT. Gilead, NC.

(Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the Service and Public Viewing are  required to wear a mask or facial covering. Also please use the Hand Sanitizing Station when entering and exiting the Funeral Home.)

A public viewing will be held 2:00 to 6:00 pm Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Harris Funeral Home and Cremations of Mt. Gilead, NC, which is serving the Pemberton, Lilly and extended families.

Our Heavenly Father, who is perfect in all actions, saw fit to bring into the world, the life of Linda Faye Pemberton. She was the daughter of the late Allen Pemberton and Ella Louise Lilly Pemberton.  She was born on Tuesday, June 7, `1949 in Montgomery County, North Carolina,

Our beloved one confessed Jesus Christ at an eartly age and joined Mt. Zion AME Zion Church, where she served in many capacities.

Faye attended the public schools of Montgomery County and graduated from Peabody High School in Troy, NC. After graduation, she attended Charlotte Business College in Charlotte, NC  Soon after, she became employed at Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC. Later, she was employed by Gilead Manufacturing, Mt. Gilead NC, Troy Drapery in Troy, NC, and Collins and Aikman of Troy, NC, where she retired.  She later  attended Montgomery Community College, Troy, NC, where she studied nursing and became employed with First Health Home Care in Troym NC and lastly with Daisy and Edwards Home Care in Mt. Gilead, NC.

Linda Faye was very good at offering her opinions in matters she felt knowledgeable in.  She had a strong feeling on what to do and she didn't meet any strangers.  All persons she came in contact with were like friends, and family.

Linda Faye, as she was called by family and friends, was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Ella Louise Pemberton; maternal grandparents, Ada and Henry Ewing; patenal grandparents, Sally Pemberton and Lonnie Rush; a sister, Barbara House and a brother, Gilbert Pemberton..

Those left to cherish and to honor her memories are her sisters, Elizabeth, Emma and Shelia Pemberton and Ann P. Litttle (Jimmy), Troy, NC; brothers, Steven Pemberton (Doris) of Troy, NC, Sylvester Pemberton (Angela) and Stanley Pemberton (Carolyn), all of Mt. Gilead, NC and Milton Pemberton of Norfolk, VA; best friends, Della Steele, Susan Luther and Georgette Lilly; five god children, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
