Loretta (Belk) Tanner

MS. LORETTA BELK TANNER, 62, of MARSHVILLE, NC, died Friday, April 1, 2016, at Monroe Rehabilitation Center, in Monroe, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00pm Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at the Harris Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Monroe, NC, with Rev. Dr. L. D. Williams, Eulogist.  Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Monroe, NC.

A public viewing will be held 1:00pm to 7:00pm Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Born in Union County, NC, on Tuesday, May 5, 1953, she was a daughter of the late Bruce and Bernice Rorie Belk.  She was a retired custodian in the Union County School System.  Loretta accepted Christ at an early age and she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie David Tanner; five brothers, Walter Jake Belk, James Wilson Belk, Curtis Belk, Therlo Belk and Gary Belk.

She leaves to cherish loving and fond memories to her two sons;  Rodney Tanner of Charlotte, NC and Derrick Tanner of the home; one grandson, Trey Tanner;  two sisters,  Burnette Belk Ashcraft of Asheboro, NC and Audrey Bivens (Larry) of Monroe, NC;  one brother; John Belk (Gwen) of Raleigh, NC;  six sisters-in-law,  Rosetta Belk, Mary Belk, Rachel Belk, Olemar Faulkner, Louise Tanner and Emma Tanner; a special friend, Robert Maske, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
