Mrs. Lucille Yvette Medley Bolden, 68 of Mount Gilead, NC, died Sunday, September 29, 2013 at First Health / Moore Regional Hospital (Reid Heart Center) in Pinehurst, NC. Funeral Services will be held 2pm Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Mount Airy AME Zion Church, Rosenwald School Rd., Mount Gilead, NC, with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Public viewing will be held 11am to 7pm Friday, October 4, 2013, at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC. Rev. R. L. Dockery, will be the eulogist and Rev. Keith Ellerbe, pastor of Mt. Airy A.M.E. Zion Church, will be officiating,
Lucille was born February 23, 1945, a daughter of Jack Medley and the late Cora Legrande Medley in Richmond County, NC. She was a graduate of Mineral Springs High School, Ellerbe, NC in 1964. After graduation she relocated to New Jersey and Philadelphia, Pennyslvania.
She was employed with Vineland Training School where she retired. She returned to North Carolina two years ago and lived with her sister, Martha who took care of her.
She was a member of Cecil Tabernacle and enjoyed being an Usher, on the kitchen committee.
Those left to cherish her loving memories are her devoted sons, Malcolm and Perry Bolden, both of Sicklerville, NJ; father, Jack Medley of Albemarle, NC; 3 grandchildren; Zarria Jones, Malcolm Bolden, Jr., and Julian Bolden; 6 sisters; Naomi Steele of Huntersville, NC, Martha Miller of Mt. Gilead, NC; Minister Abagail Attaway of Albemarle, NC, Barbara Scarboro (Michael) of Mt. Gilead, NC, Myrtle Martey (Gabriel) of VA, and Jackie Little of Asheboro, NC; two aunts, Isabella Medley of NY and Willia Mae Medley of Mt. Gilead, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and dear friends.
