Maezetta (Kilgo) Laney

MRS. MAEZETTA KILGO LANEY, 70 of MONROE, NC passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Atrium Health / Union in Monroe, NC.

Graveside Services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Hillcrest Cemetery, 1001 Adams St.., Monroe, NC.

(Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the Service and Public Viewing are required to wear a mask or facial covering.  Also please use the Hand Sanitizing Station when entering and exiting the Funeral Home.)

A public viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Friday, April 30, 2021 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC.

Mrs. Maezetta Kilgo Laney, was born on May 9, 1950 in Monroe, North Carolina, to the late Richard Kilgo and Daisy Austin Kilgo.

Maezetta was preceded in death by her two loving parents; husband, Clanious Augustus Laney; two sisters, Gracie Mae Brewer and Delois Barnes; two sisters-in-law, Bertha Allen and  Inez Laney; one brother, Richmond  Kilgo and two brothers-in-law, James Laney and Edward Alexander.

Mrs. Maezetta was blessed and known by everyone you could imagine who had met her,  She was loving, joyful, kind, very hardworking, and an educated woman.  She will be deeply missed by all whom grew to love her.

She leaves to cherish loving and blessed memories to her sons, Harvey Laney (Jessie) of Waxhaw, NC, Melvin Laney of Monroe, NC; Marilyn Waddell also of Monroe, NC; 12 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cherished loved ones.
