Marcella (Caple) Mcdonald

MRS. MARCELLA CAPLE MCDONALD, 71, of MOUNT GILEAD, NC, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016, in the Carolinas Health Care System- Pineville, Pineville, NC.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm  Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Thomasville Missionary Baptist Church, 233 Thomasville Church Road, Mount Gilead, NC 27306, of which she was a member, with the Reverend Edward Barringer, Jr.(uncle), Eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

A public viewing will be held 1:00pm to 7:00pm Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC.

Marcella was born on Friday, December 1, 1944, in Montgomery County, NC, to the late June and Virginia Barringer Caple.

She attended the public schools of Montgomery County and graduated from Peabody High School, Troy, NC.  She was a faithful member of Thomasville Missionary Baptist Church, where she was President of the Kitchen Ministry and the church cleaning technician.

Marcella was employed with Bates Nightwear of Troy, for several years.  She was a seamtress for Mrs. Marie, employed with DSS Transportation and was CEO of Children of The Future of Mt. Gilead.

She loved to travel, sew, cook and most of all she loved her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold McDonald; one brother, Alvin Caple; two sisters, Addie Mae Turner and Mae Alice Collins (son, James Collins); her grandmother, Beulah Miller and an uncle, James Barringer.   She will be sorely missed.

Marcella transitioned to her heavenly home, early Saturday morning, August 27, 2016, in the Carolinas Health Care System-Pineville, in Pineville, NC, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness.

She leaves in the sunshine of life to hold loving and fond memories to her beloved partner, Nathaniel LeGrande of the home; one son, Shawn McDonald (Tameka) of Chicago, ILL., and one daughter, LaSaundra McDonald (Travis Shaw) of Randleman, NC; one brother, Charlie Caple of Mt. Gilead, NC; one sister, Beulah Ellerbe (Raymond) of Mt. Gilead, NC; one sister-in-law, Bernice Caple of Mt. Gilead, NC; one uncle, Reverend Edward Barringer, Jr., of Virginia Beach, VA.; one aunt, Evangelist Ernestine Burton of Norfolk, VA; two granddaughters, Ashley Drake of Asheboro, NC and Keuna Drake of the home; two grandsons, Travis M. Shaw of Shelby, NC and Tralvis K. Shaw of Randleman, NC; one great-grandson, Mason Leake;  special nephew, Derrick Christian; special cousins, Ella Mae Bruton, Brenda Pemberton, Betty Carol Dunlap, Cecil Barringer, Elnora Pankey, Christine Butler, Walter Lee Tyson and Roberta McDonald; and a host of nieces, nephews, other cousins and friends, a special friend, Cathy Horne of Mt. Gilead, NC.

The family wishes to thank Milton, Darryl and Maurice Miller, Tasha Oliver and Nikea Ballard,  (Mary Miller's Children) for being there.   Also thanks to the LeGrande Family for their assistance.
