Miss Margie Louette White, a daughter of the Margie Ray Allen White and the late Prince Crawford White, Sr., was born on Tuesday, February 7, 1956 in Marshville, NC.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Prince Crawford White, Jr.
Margie was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend who loved deeply. She enjoyed cross stritching, crafts, and sewing. Margie had many other hobbies to include baking her famous "cold oven pound cakes" and "Amish Friendship Bread", which many enjoyed when they assisted her in a time of need as a way of saying thank you.
She graduated from Monroe High School in 1974. Margie went on to continue her eduation beyond high school at Stanly Community College, Albemarle, NC, where she received her Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Margie worked as a Teacher Assistant in the Union County Public School System for 23 years, where she taught Kindergarten through Middle School students. In other work life experiences, she was a basketball coach and also taught Gymnastics.
Margie was a woman of great faith who joined the church at an early age. She attended several churches until she joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1985. She was a very faithful member, rarely missing a sunday until she began to face health challenges. Anyone who knew her will remember her famous saying, "You know me, I just KEEP ON KEEPING ON", and that she did in a remarkable way! Despite her sickness, and no matter how great her pain, Margie didn't complain. At some point during her struggles, she adopted the name "Rainbow Delight" and attributed this name to always remember " God's Promise." This acknowledgement brings about the reflection of "The Rainbow of God's Promise" to Noah after the great flood in the Old Testament. This remains as a constant reminder to everyone she met including family and friends that God established a covenant with Noah by His grace. (Genesis 8 and 9.
She went above and beyond to do the work of the Lord which included sharing the Gospel performing her church callings and doing Missionary work. In addition to her love of singing, she was a choir member and a director along with performing many solos at church and within the community. Margie had an extraordinary, yet angelic voice. When people had the opportunity to hear her magnified vocals, they were truly blessed, inspired and uplifted.
Left to celebrate her life and cherish her memories is her only child, Travis Lafayette White of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren, Ja'suan Maximus White of Charlotte, NC and Camdin Nysairee White, of York, SC; her loving namesake and mother, Margie Ray Allen White of Monroe, NC; five sisters, Alice Faye Murray of Irvington, NJ, Mary White Washington of Lancaster, SC, Elaine White McManus (Sonny) of Waxhaw, NC, Betty R. White of Monroe, NC and Marie Ann White of Charlotte, NC; three brothers, Ethan L. White of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Ricky D. White and Teddy M. White, both of Atlanta, GA and three bonus brothers, Ernest Calvin Howard (Tressie) of Marshville, NC, Prime Moore and Leon Jones, both of Monroe, NC; 20 nieces and nephews, 12 great-nieces and nephews and 1 great-great-nephew, with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only but unto all them also that love His appearing.
