Born on Saturday, July 9, 1932 in Waxhaw, NC, she was the eighth of thirteen children of the late Callie E. and Gertrude B. Massey Craig. Marion received her formal education through the Union County Public School System and high school diploma from Western Union High School in 1950.  She attended Barber-Scotia College in Concord, NC. She later relocated to New York where she was employed at the New York City Human Resources Administration Medicaid Office on 34th St. in Manhattan for more than twenty years retiring from this Job as Supervisor in 1994.

Marion was truly admired by her family and friends and especially by her nieces and nephews whom she loved with all her heart; never forgetting a birthday. Marion was passionate about many things, but her unwavering faith in God was the center of her life. God was the rock and her refuge, her source of strenght; the Master of all things.  She praised him always, and she will always praise him forever.  Her daily prayer, Bible reading and meditation began very early each morning.  She never slept beyond 5 am and everyone knew not to call her after 7 pm because she would be fast asleep.

Marion was preceded in death by her sisters, Calvert's Craig McManus (6/11/1985), Theresa Craig Black (5/20/1978), Dr. Doris Craig Wingate (8/21/2009, Vernell Vcraig Stevens (7/21/2011) and her brothers, Booker T. Vcraig (6/8/2001), and Clinton Allen Craig, Sr. (4/17/2009).

Marion leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to her two sisters; Virginia Carter and O'Leatha Amazigo both of New York, NY; one brother, Cecil Robert Craig(Dorothy) of Medford, Mass.;.two aunts, Margie Nelson, of Lancaster, SC and Bleeka  Nelson  Petersburg, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends.
