Mary Ruth Collins

MS. MARY RUTH COLLINS, 78 of MONROE, NC passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Parc at Sharon Amity in Charlotte, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 4:00 pm Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Greater Grace Community Missionary Baptist Church, 880 Hasty Rd., Marshville, NC 28103. Reverend Rodney J. Evans, Sr., Pastor, Eulogist.  Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

A public viewing will be held  1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, June 15, 2018 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC whom is serving the Collins and extended family.

Mary (Mae Ruth) was born on Friday  April 19, 1940 in Anson County, Wadesboro, NC. to the late Mary Julie Henry Deese

Mae Ruth attended Faison High School in Wadesboro.  She devoted her life to God at an early age at Flat Rock Baptist Church in Wadesboro, NC and later at Greater Grace Community Missionary Baptist Church in Marshville, NC.

She was a loving and devoted grandmother to all her grandchildren and her grands were her pride and joy.

Preceding her in death were a brother, Clifton Collins and a sister, Laura Esther Collins.

She leaves cherished memories to one son, Donnie Ray Collins and two daughters  Sharon Owens and Peggy Collins  all of Monroe, NC; two brothers, John Frank Collins of Manassas, VA and Lee Harvey Collins and wife Carolyn Collins and sister, Louise Collins  all of Wingate, NC; 9 grandchildren  22 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces  nephews  cousins and friends.
