Mary Esterlean (Mccain) Jordan

January 10, 1927 — April 11, 2015

MRS. MARY ESTERLEAN McCAIN JORDAN, 88 of MONROE, NC, passed away April 11, 2015 at CHS - Union in Monroe, NC.  Funeral Services will be held 2pm Friday, April 17, 2015 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church,  501 P.E. Bazemore Dr., Monroe, NC 28110.  Reverend Larry W. Leake, Pastor, will be the Eulogist.  Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112.  A public viewing will be held 11am to 7pm Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Mrs. Jordan was born in Lancaster County, SC, Monday, January 10, 1927,  a daughter of the late Herbert and Martha Mills McCain.  She accepted Christ at an early age and was educated at Marvin School in Waxhaw, NC.  She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of Monroe, NC, where she served as a Deaconess and a  active Chior member. She retired from Charlotte Plastics of Monroe, NC, after 18 years of service. A very  friendly and loving person, her charming personality and beautiful smile will always be remembered and she was one of the matriarchs of the Quality Hills Community, a devoted Mother and loved the Lord and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Esterlean was preceded in death by her husband; Hubert Jordan; son, Wilbert Jordan; two brothers and three sisters,  and a very special friend, Mrs. Hattie M. Doster.

She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to five daughters; Shirley Rorie and Lenora Brewer of Charlotte, NC, Mary Moser, Martha Allen and Sylvia Jordan all of Monroe, NC; five sons,  Willie Jackson, Harold Jordan, Rochel Jordan, Herbert Jordan (Diana) and Kenneth "Buster" Jordan all of Monroe, NC; one sister; Lottie Massey of Mineral Springs, NC; 21 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
