Mrs. Mary Anna Stanback McRae, was born on Tuesday, September 24, 1935, in Montgomery County, North Carolina, to the late Arthur and Anna Greene Stanback.  Mary answered the call of Christ, once when he call her out of darkness and once again, when He called her home and there was no hesitation to either call.  She departed this earthly life one Saturday, April 18, 2020.

Personification, is the representation of an abstract quality in human form or "If love was a person".  This best describe the love that Mary McRae "Mommy" shared with her family members and those who came to know her.  Love personified.

Mary attended Edwards School.  She gave her life to Christ at an early age and served Him until He called her home.  She was a member of Snow Hill AME Zion Church, where she served on the choir and the Usher Board.

She instilled the fundamentals values in her children.  At an early age, she loved everyone unconditionally, worked hard, obeyed the law of the land and most importantly, to put your trust and your life in the hand of the almighty God.

Mary leaves to cherish loving memories to two sons, Reverend Bobby McRae (Lady Robin) of Albemarle, NC and Dennis McRae (Sylvia) of High Point, NC; 3 grandchildren, Chepelle, Delmar, Octavia; 10 great-grands; two sisters, Eva Dykes of Mt. Gilead, NC and Sandra Barnaby of New York; two brothers, Billy Stanback (Pat) of New York and Melvin Stanback of Albemarle, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
