Mattie Louise (Lindsey) Harris

Mattie Louise Lindsey Harris, 72 of Indian Trail, NC died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital Harris Hospice Unit in Charlotte, NC.  Funeral Services will be held 1pm Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, 503 Maurice St., Monroe, NC 28112.  Dr. Osco E. Gardin, Jr. Eulogist, Visitation will be held 12:30 to 1pm Saturday, April 13, 2013 prior to the Service at the Church, Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Monroe, NC.  Public Viewing will be held 12 noon to 6pm Friday, April 12, 2013 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Born in LeFlore County, MS Sunday, July 7, 1940 a daughter of the late Martin Lindsey and Ora Bell Estes Lindsey. She was also preceded in death by two sisters Ida Lee Carrington and Demetrius Land.

She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories one daughter Faye Lee and Grandson John Martin Lee both of the home; two cousins who were like brothers to her David Prewitt of Detroit, MI and Calvin Guest of Lexington, MS; brothers; Albert  Maxxum of Harrisburg, PA and Joseph "Bo" Lindsey of Miami, FL; three sisters; twin sisters, Warnar Mary Lindsey and Garnar Mary Lindsey along with Doris Lindsey all of Miami, FL and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and dear friends.
