MR. MICHAEL STANBACK, 64 of MT. GILEAD, NC , passed away Monday, September 13, 2021 at the Autumn Care Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Biscoe, NC.
Graveside Services will be held 12:00 pm Sunday, September 19, 2021 at the Mount Airy AME Zion Church Cemetery, 322 Rosenwald School Rd., MT. Gilead, NC.
(Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the Service and Public Viewing are required to wear a mask or a facial covering. Also please use the Hand Sanitizing Station when entering and exiting the Funeral Home.)
A public viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of MT. Gilead, NC., who is serving the Stanback, McGuine and extended families.
According to the will of God, our beloved Michael Stanback's mission was fulfilled on Monday, September 13, 2021 at the age of 64. He was the son of the late Nannie Stanback LeGrand and Nathan LeGrand Jr., on Sunday, June 2,1957, in Montgomery County, North Carolina.
He was educated in the public schools of Richmond County and joined the United States Army, where he received his diploma.
Michael , fondly called " Frog" by family and friends who knew him, knew he had a sense of hunor that everyone loved and he always greeted you with a smile.
After returning home from the Army, he was employed at McRae Footwear in Mt. Gilead for many years, Later, he became employed at Troy Lumber Company in Troy, NC, as a Supervisor .
He leaves to cherish loving and fond memories to the love of his life, his fiance', Nora McGuine of the home; her children he raised as his own, James "Pete" McGuine of Charlotte, NC, Barbara "Sissy" Medley (Dewayne) of Asheboro, NC and Shywanna "Shy" Little (Michael) of Mt. Gilead, NC; a sister, Lynette Stanback of Albemarle, NC and a brother, Chris LeGrand (LaTonja) of Charlotte, NC; 5 aunts, Ann Patterson and Polly Steele (Henry), all of Mt. Gilead, NC, Sue McLeod of Greensboro, NC, Dorsena Stanback of Rockingham, NC and Annette Stanback of Charlotte, NC; one uncle, John Taylor; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, 8 nephews, one niece, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
