MRS. MODEAN OTIS BELK BELTON, 80 of MONROE, NC passed away Monday, February 11, 2018 at Atrium Health / Pineville in Charlotte, NC.
A Remembrance of Modean and gathering to celebrate her life and legacy will be announced at a later date.
Born Monday, August 15, 1938 in Monroe, NC, she was a daughter of the late Briley, Sr. and Viola Robinson Belk. Modean was a 1957 graduate of Western Union High School and attended Business College. She lived in New York and New Jersey for many years and retired from Citibank in 1995 as a Collection Associate. Modean dedicated her life talking to people about the Word of Jehovah God. She was a Pioneer in the Jehovah Witnesses. Modean loved traveling and visited several countries; China, Africa, Jerusalem, Russia, Taiwan, Venezuela, Korea and so many more. She also toured many Caribbean Islands, Hawaii and several states. Modean was preceded in death by her parents, grandfather; Richard Crowder, two brothers; Craven Belk and James Belk.
She is survived by her husband; James Belton, her siblings; Briley Belk, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Margaret Crumpler of Monroe, NC and Doris Belk of Mint Hill, NC. Four sisters-in-laws and two brothers-in-laws,many nieces, nephews, cousins and a legion of friends.
