Mother Mary (Parker) Graham

MOTHER MARY PARKER GRAHAM, 101 of MT. GILEAD, NC (Parkertown Community) passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at her home.

Joint Funeral Services with her beloved Sister, Mother Emma Jane Parker Mckinney will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, February 6, 2022 at the Saint Luke Church of God, 542 Parkertown Rd., MT. Gilead, NC.  Mother Graham's remains will lie in repose 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the church prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

(Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic every attending the Services and Public Viewing are required to wear a mask or facial covering.  Also please use the Hand Sanitizing Station when entering and exiting the Funeral Home.)

A public viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of MT. Gilead, NC which is serving the Graham, Parker and extended families.

Mother Mary Parker Graham , a daughter of the late Ernest and Bitha Butler Parker, was born on June 6, 1920, in Montgomery County, North Carolina. Mother Mary departed this earthly life on Wednesday afternoon, February 2, 2022, at her home in Mt. Gilead, NC at the young age of 101.

Mother Mary accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. Luke Church of God, where she faithfully attend and served on the Senior Choir, Pastor's Aide, Kitchen Committee Finance Committee, President of the Usher Board and was installed as a "Mother" of St. Luke Church of God Mother's Board.

She attended the public schools of Montgomery County and Montgomery Technical Institute, Troy, NC, where she earned a certificate for Millinery.  She was a  cook, homemaker and child care provider for the children of the community.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late William Graham and to this union seven children were born.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Willie; two daughters-in-law, Cynthia Graham and Syveria Graham; great-grandson, Keyjayvum Graham and granddaughter, Starie Graham.  A sister, Mother Emma McKinney, passed the same day as Mother Mary Graham passed.

Mother Mary leaves to cherish loving and fond memories to four sons, Bobby Graham (Josephine), George Graham, Jerry Graham and Leo Graham (Teresa), all of Mt. Gilead, NC; two daughters, Donna Graham and Effie Graham both of the home; daughter-in-law, Brenda Graham of Mt. Gilead, NC; one sister Nora Parker Lewis of Mt. Gilead, NC; one sister-in-law, Martha Jane Lide of Raeford, NC; 27 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.  A special thanks to Queen City Home Health of Charlotte, NC.
