Mother Ruby Mae (Spivey) Mcdonald

MOTHER RUBY MAE SPIVEY  MCDONALD, 96 of NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK, formerly of MT. Gilead, NC passed away Friday, February 4, 2022.

Funeral Services will be held 12:00 pm Monday, February 21, 2022 at the Saint Luke Church of God, 542 Parkertown Road, MT. Gilead. NC.  Mother McDonald's remains will lie in repose 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow  in the church cemetery.

(Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic everyone attending the service are required to wear a mask or facial covering.  Also please use the hand Sanitizing Station in the church Vestibule before entering the Sanctuary.)

She was born on November 16, 1925 in Bertie County, Windsor, NC to the late Blanche Gilliam and Robert Spivey and raised by Rosa Cherry.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Berion Lee McDonald; daughters Pamela and Diane; son Samuel; siblings, Clinton Spivey, Marthane Roscoe, John Spivey, Moses Spivey, Tessie Berry, Lafayette Spivey, Charlie Spivey, (twin brother), Robert Spivey, Melvin Spivey and Rosa Watson.

Survivors include sons, Richard Nathaniel McDonald and Aaron Ray McDonald; daughter, Merion Lee Burns; sister, Mamie Smith; caregivers, granddaughter, Tene' McDonald-Gelin and great-grandson, John Marsh; 17 grands, 19 great-grands, one great-great grandchild .
