Mrs. Hattie Mae (Medley) Little

Mrs. Hattie Mae Medley Little, 92 of Mt. Gilead, NC, died  Friday, February 22, 2013 at Bethany Woods Nursing Home, Albemarle, NC.  Funeral will be 1p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at Oliver Grove Baptist Church, 232 Davis Haywood Road, Mangrum Community, Mt. Gilead of which she was a member, with Rev. W. H. Sturdivant, pastor, eulogist.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a Richmond County, NC native,  born September 22, 1920 to the late Cain Medley, Sr., and Lucy Dumas Medley.  She attended the public schools of Richmond County, and was a member of Oliver Grove Baptist Church, where she served diligently as an Usher until her health failed.

She was married to the late Martin Kit Little and to this union seven children were born.  A daughter, Clara Mae Little, and four brothers, Cain, Jr., Rush, William and Clint Medley, all preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish loving and fond memories to four daughters; Verline House ( Rev. Columbus) and Lucy Anne Little, all of Mt. Gilead, NC, Alvina House (Lacy) of Biscoe, NC and Margie Bea White (Rudolph) of Richmond, VA; two sons, Martin Little, Jr., and Daniel Bryant Little, both of Mt. Gilead, NC; one brother, Jack Medley of Forest Oakes Nursing Home, Albemarle, NC; 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Mt. Gilead, NC.  The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
