Ms. Sarah Lee Dumas

September 21, 1941 — April 23, 2013

Ms. Sarah Lee" Snoot" Dumas,  71, of Thomasville Church Road, Mt. Gilead, NC,  passed away, Tuesday evening April 23, 2013, at Forest Oaks Nursing Home, Albemarle, NC.  Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013 at West Montgomery High School Auditorium, Mt. Gilead, NC.  Burial will be in the church cemetery (Ingram Chapel).  Rev. Cynthia Ransome, pastor of Mt. Grove and Ingram Chapel AME Zion Churches will be the eulogist.  Public viewing will be 11:00 a.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday at Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Mt. Gilead.   Family visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the funeral.

Sarah was a Montgomery County native,  a member of Ingram Chapel AME Zion church and formerly employed with McRae Industries.  She attended the public schools of Montgomery County.

Sarah was the daughter of the late Alonzo and Flora Haywood Dumas, born September 21, 1941  She was preceded in death by three sisters; Rachel Dumas, Annette Dumas and Ruby  Dumas  and brothers William Dumas.   Those left to cherish loving and fond memories are two sons, Jerry Dumas of the home and Jerome Dumas (Vicki) of Norwood, NC; tthree sisters, Mary Ann Dumas-Ingram and Roenia Dumas Smith, both of New Haven Conn; Susie Dumas-Watkins (Bobby Ray) of Mt. Gilead, NC; two brothers, Lonnie Dumas of Powder Springs, GA and Wilbert Dumas of the home; 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandhildren; special friends, J.C. Little, Janice Miller and Kay McLaurin, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
