Nettie Ruth ("Pullet") Pemberton

MISS NETTIE  RUTH "Pullet" PEMBERTON, 72 of MOUNT GILEAD, NC, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 at  her home.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 pm  Saturday, June 23, 2018, at the Leah Richter Levin Memorial Auditorium, 102 S. School Street, Mount  Gilead, NC 27306.  Interment will follow in the Chestnut AME Zion Church Cemetery in Mount Gilead, NC.

A public viewing will be held 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, June 22, 2018 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Mount Gilead, NC whom is servi ng the Pemberton and extended family.

Pullet was born on Friday, March 29, 1946 in Montgomery County, NC, to the late Mr. John Henry and Mrs. Ollie Leak Pemberton.

Pullet accepted Christ at an early and attended Chestnut A.M. E. Zion Church, Mt. Gilead, NC. She received her formal education in the Montgomery County School System and graduated from Peabody High School in 1964.

Pullet was employed by Troy Drapery, Cratex and Gilead Manufacturing. Pullet was more than an aunt to her nieces and nephews, she was a friend, advisor and confidant. She was well loved and respected in her Community where she resided for 47 years. Those who visited Pullet's home was always welcomed and made to feel right at home.

She was predeceased in death by her parents, three brothers, Thomas,  Ronald and  Leon Pemberton;  a nephew whom she considered as a brother, Lee Edward Pemberton and two other nephews, Ricky Allsbrook and Vernon Alsobrook.

Pullet leaves to cherish loving and fond memories to her caring, devoted and loving daughter, Shannon Laurvelle  Pemberton of the home; five sisters, Edna Mae Allsbrook, of Mt. Gilead, NC,  Jessie Marie Morrison (Charles) of Candor, NC, Mary Helen Alsobrook and Lorraine Stancil(Rev. Ollie), all of Mt. Gilead, NC, and Mae Frances Lilly of Greensboro, NC and a nephew considered as a brother, James Marion "Bee" Pemberton of Mt. Gilead, NC.  In addition to her daughter, Pullet was involved in the rearing of Damon Ingram, Corey Pemberton, Lee Pemberton and Olivia Pemberton; a loving sister in law, Rose Mary Pemberton of Mt. Gilead, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
