MRS. NOVELLA MILTON BURNS HEATH, 89 of MONROE, NC, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 at CHS Hospice of Union County of Monroe, NC.
Funeral Services will be held 12:00pm Saturday, May 28, 2016, at the Union Springs AME Zion Church, 4003 Morgan Mill Rd., Monroe, NC 28110, with visitation 11:30am to 12:00pm at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Monroe, NC.
A public viewing will be held 1:00pm to 7:00pm Friday, May 27, 2016, at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC
Novella Milton Burns Heath, died peacefully at the CHS Hospice of Union County, in Monroe, NC. She passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at the age of 89.
Mrs. Novella Milton Burns Heath, was born on Tuesday, July 27, 1926, in Union County, NC, to the late Albert and Ruth Burns. She attended Rock Hill High School. She was married to James Heath. Mrs. Heath was employed by Guardian Care for over 40 years and was a member of Union Springs A.M.E. Zion Church, where she served on the Kitchen Committee and the Missionary Society until her health began to fail.
Known for her frequent conversation with even total strangers, some may be surprised to learn oc the extreme shyness. She possessed a cntagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life, she maintained a sweet simple deameanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter, joking around, will never be forgotten. Possessing a true servants heart, Novella faithfully cared for family and friends through delicious cooking/baking cakes and cornbread dressing from scratch.
Mrs. Heath was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Heath; Albert (Peggy) Heath, Kathy Heath and Belinda Hubbard.
Those left to cherish loving and fond memories are her children; William (Lona) Burns and James and Joann Heath, of Charlotte, NC, Darrel Heath of Monroe,NC and Jeffrey (Rhonda) Heath of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Grady (Rose) Burns and Frank Burns; son-in-law, Jeffrey Hubbard of Monroe, NC; 17 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, and special friends, Laura Walker, Linda Williams and Geneva Livingston.
