Parnell Franklin Davis

MR. PARNELL FRANKLIN DAVIS, 60 of MONROE, NC, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Novant Health / Presbyterian Medical Center- Harris Hospice Unit in Charlotte, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 pm Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Mount Calvary AME Zion Church, 800 La Salle St., Monroe, NC 28110. Pastor Ray Patrick Davis, Eulogist.

Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Monroe, NC.

A public viewing will be held 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Parnell was born Friday, August 2, 1957 in Union County, NC a son of the late Larry Anthony and Lottie Mae Davis. He attended the public schools of Union County, NC and was a long time employee of Tyson Foods of Monroe, NC.  Parnell was a very outspoken person and stood firmly in what he believed in and loved his family dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; Marcus Cureton, two brothers; Gary Davis and Bobby Davis.

Parnell leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to four daughters; Shawna Polk, Markayla Davis, Olivia Davis and Ava Davis all of Monroe, NC, two sons; Parnell Polk, Jr. (Brittany) of Monroe, NC and Matthew of Charlotte, NC, one sister; Betty Blakeney (Jimmy) of Monroe, NC, six grandchildren; Jaleesa Polk, Ja' Kwon Polk, Keyon Polk, Faith Polk, Tristian Polk and Summer Polk all of Monroe, NC, two great-grandchildren; Kylan Polk and Londyn Polk both of Monroe, NC and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
