Pyne Waddell

Mr. Pyne Waddell, 83, of 837 South Main Street,  Troy, NC formerly of Mount Gilead, NC,  died Friday, October 12, 2012 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC.  Funeral Services will be held 2pm Friday, October 19, 2012 at Chestnut AME Zion Church, 7093 Grassy Island Rd., Mount Gilead, NC, Reverend Tracii Miller, Pastor, Eulogist with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery.

Mr. Waddell was an Anson County (Lilesville) native and attended Henry Grove School and Savannah A.M.E. Zion Church.  He  was a retiree of Uhwarrie Lumber Company, Troy, NC.  He was united in holy matrimony to Alberta Little Waddell for 43 years.  Mrs. Waddell preceded him in death November 25, 2004.  He was preceded in death by siblings, twin brother Paul, Nathaniel, Arthur, Osborne and Ottis Waddell, Irene Snell, Minnie Allen and Almetta Willoughby.

Those left to cherish loving and fond memories are his devoted daughter Ella M. Waddell (John Young) of the home; sons, Larry Waddell and Kenneth Waddell (Nancy), all of Mt. Gilead, NC; a granddaughter raised as his own, Zadaisha Young-Waddell of the home;  a grandson raised as his own. Jamal Jackson of Troy, NC; sisters, Era Sturdivant and Edna Ingram (Bee) all of Charlotte, NC, Thelma Autry of Wadesboro, NC, Claretta Maske and Betty Knox (Fred), all of Polkton, NC; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and dear friends.

Public viewing will be held 11am to 7pm Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC.
