MRS. REBECCA CUTHRELL BOWDEN, 74 of MT. GILEAD, NC passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022  at First Health  / Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst, NC.

Graveside Services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, May 15, 2022 at the Pleasant Grove Missionary Church Cemetery, Thickety Creek Rd., MT. Gilead, NC.

Ms. Rebecca Cuthrell Bowden , was born on Saturday, February 21, 1948 in Davidson County, North Carolina.  She departed this life on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Firsthealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst, North Carolina.

Rebecca attended the public schools of Montgomery County.  She was a devoted member of Thomas Chapel Baptist Church, Mt. Gilead, NC.  She was a devoted member who served in many capacities at her beloved church. Rebecca was employed at McRae Industries for 41 years as a sewer until her health declined.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Bowden; her brothers, Edward Lee Cuthrell and George Albert Cuthrell and her sister, Priscilla Cuthrell Collins.

Rebecca leaves to cherish her loving memories; her only son, Jerry J. Cuthrell (Doris) of Mt. Gilead, NC; one brother, Vernon Ike Cuthrell of Florida; three sisters, Lillie Mae Holden (Jimmy) of Raleigh, NC, Betty Cuthrell of Mt. Gilead, NC and Dorothy Cuthrell of Asheboro, NC; three granddaughters, Jennifer Capel of the home; Jasmine Capel and Latoya Cuthrell, both of Troy, NC; three grandsons, Jerry Capel of Candor, NC, Kendric Cuthrell (Precious) of Asheboro, NC and Justin Capel of Troy, NC; two bonus granddaughters, Shemikka Henry of Lillington, NC and Tanekka Henry of Troy, NC; one brother-in-law, Ralph Collins of Mt.Gilead, NC; one sister-in-law, Frances Martin of Mt. Gilead, NC; 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A public viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of MT. Gilead, NC which is serving the Bowden, Cuthrell and extended families.
