Richard Alfred Anthony, III of Monroe, NC died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC .  Funeral Services will be held 3pm Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2207 Lancaster Hwy., Monroe, NC with burial to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Monroe, NC.

Born in Union County, North Carolina a son of the late Alfred and Richard Marshall Anthony, he was a retiree of the North Carolina Department of Corrections.

Survivors include his wife Surluta Belton Anthony; two daughters; Tamara Anthony Williams (Charles) and Shawntay Anthony; two sons; Scott Tyrone Anthony and Brent O. Anthony; one sister; Josephine Anthony; one brother George Anthony and three grandchildren Cameron Williams, Briana Anthony and Jeremy Anthony; Father in Law; Dr. Edward L. Belton, Sr., and Mother in Law; Christine Belton and a host of cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2012, 7pm to 8:30pm at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC
