Mr. Roosevelt Franklin Davis, 85 of Wingate, NC died Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center - Union in Monroe, NC.  Funeral Services will be held 2pm Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Nicey Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 318 Camden Rd., Marshville, NC 28103 Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Dr. M.L. Kaufman, Pastor, Officiating and Reverend Louis Blakeney, Eulogist.   His remains will lie in repose from 1pm to 2pm prior to the service.

Born in Anson County, NC Friday, September 30, 1927 a son of the late Saint Sturdivant and Lena Davis Perry.  During his journey on earth Roosevelt was educated in the Public Schools of Anson County and was a member of the Lilesville Chapter Masonic Lodge and was an employee of Cresent Horne Saw Mill where he retired after many years of service, Roosevelt was also a member of Nicey Grove Missionary Baptist Church were he sang on the Men's Choir.  He was also preceeded in death by his wife Johnnie Magnolia Cuthbertson Davis.

He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories; Five sons; Albert Teen Davis, (Geraldine) of Wingate, NC, Merrell F. Davis, (Bertha) of Pageland, SC, Vernis Davis of Charlotte, NC, Curl Davis of Monroe, NC, Jessie Davis of Charlotte, NC  and Leroy Davis of Wingate, NC; Six daughters; Earnestine Sturdivant, (Douglas) of Wingate, NC, Minister Lena Huntley, (Henry) of Wingate, NC, Ancie M. Blount of Monroe, NC, Curlie V. Davis of Raleigh, NC, Rosie Horne of Wingate, NC and Kathaleen Davis of Marshville, NC; One brother Clayton Perry of Charlotte, NC; Three Sisters; Henrietta Parson, Paulene Perry and Virginia Perry Caesar all of Monroe, NC; One brother in law; Clyde Cuthbertson of Florida; 36 Grandchildren; 71 Great-grandchildren and 25 Great-great-grandchildren and a host of Neices, Nephews and other relatives and friends,
