Mrs. Rosa Lee Butler Hinson, 69, of Mount Gilead, NC, formerly of Biscoe, NC, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. Funeral Services will be held 1pm Monday, November 4, 2013 at Biscoe Community Center, 380 Page St., Biscoe, NC 27209. Interment will follow in the Lewis-Lyles Cemetery in Biscoe, NC. Public viewing will be held 12pm to 4:30pm Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Mount Gilead, NC, and 6pm to 7:30pm Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Hood Chapel AME Zion Church, 313 Bruton St., Biscoe, NC 27209. Rosa was the third child born to the late Cyrus and Jean Clegg Butler, on July 2, 1944, in Montgomery County, North Carolina.
She was a 1963 graduate of Peabody High School in Troy, NC and ventured shortly to New York and New Jersey. She returned home and became employed in the textile industry and was last employed with Wes Care Center for Children, Troy, NC as a child care provider.
Rosa was a member of Hood Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Biscoe, NC, where she was a member of the choir, Steward Board and President of the Lay Council. and anywhere else needed.
She was married to the late Charlie L. "Shug" Hinson, Jr., and to this union 4 children were born, Dennis, Jeffrey, Charlie " Chuck" and Tanya.
She leaves to cherish loving and fond memories to her children; Dennis, Jeffrey, Chuck and Tanya; 7 sisters; Sally, Juanita, Shirley, Beatrice, Faye, Penny and Lynn; 4 brothers; Gilbert, Tommy, Jimmy and Clifford; a special sister, JoAnn; three grandchildren; Jayla, Jayce, Khaylin; special sister; Martha; special daughters; Toni and Angie; special son; Albert; special grandchild; Trell and great-grandson; Josiah. She had a special love for a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors and beloved friend, Bob; mother-in-law, Doris Hinson; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and cousins.
