Rosa Mae Holmes

MS. ROSA MAE HOLMES, 91 of MONROE, NC passed away Thursday, May 21, 2020 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at the Elizabeth Baptist Missionary Baptist Church. 503 Maurice St,. Monroe. NC 28112.  Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery.

A Public Viewing will be held  2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of Monroe, NC.

Miss Rosa Mae Holmes, a daughter of the late Thomas McCain and Lillie Belle Holmes Gregory, was born on Monday, April 1, 1929, in Union County, North Carolina.  She departed this earthly life suddenly on Thursday, May 21, 2020, at her home.

Miss Rosa Mae, as she was fondly called by her close friends, was a loving Mother and Grandmother and a life long member of the Historic Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, Monroe, NC, until her health began to decline,=.

Miss Holmes was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Thomas Doster and Johnny Lee Holmes; four brothers, James Holmes, Authur Lee Gregory, Edward Gregory and Fuzzy Gregory and one sister, Lela Holmes Dorsey.

She leaves to cherish fond memories to her son, Donald Holmes and her daughter, Teresa Holmes, both of Monroe, NC; 13 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
