Scott Green

MR. SCOTT GREEN, 66 of MT. GILEAD, NC passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held 12:00 pm Saturday, December 30, 2023 at the Mount Zion A.M.E. Zion Church, 6748 Highway 73 West, MT. Gilead, NC.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  A public viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Friday, December 29, 2023 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremations of MT. Gilead, NC which is serving the Green and extended families.

A son of the late John L. Green and Mary Virginia Litaker Green, was born on Friday, May 17, 1957, in Montgomery County, NC.

Scott accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mount Zion A.M.E.Zion Church, Mt. Gilead, where he was Chairman of the Trustee Board, an Usher, Chairman of the Finance Committee and a choir member.  He was also the groundskeeper.

Scott was a 1976 graduate of West Montgomery Hign School, Mt. Gilead, NC.  After graduation, he attended Montgomery Community College, NC where he earned a degree in Auto Body and  Future Truckers of America.

He was later employed with Russell-Harvell, DSM, Russ-Mont, Alcoa and C&A.

Scott was united in Holy Matrimony to Miss Dinah Bennett and to this union a son ansd two daughters were born.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David, John Lewis, and Everitt Green and his sister, Rosemary Green.

Those left to cherish and to honor his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Dinah B. Green of the home; his son, Scottie O. Green (Shawnya); two daughters,Latonica Maness (Artemus) and Kellie Green; his siblings, Claude Green, Frank Green, Calvin Green, Bruno Green, Dan Green (Frances), Willie Green, Greg Little, Gerry Little, Donald Little,  Angela Phillips, Mona Deans, and Amy Brown; brother-in-law, Paul Bennett (Ola Mae); sisters-in-law, Deborah Little (Ernest), Mary Ann Everett, Sandy Kennedy (Nathan), Pauline Bennett and Yusheka Bennett; grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
