Shirley Mae (Medley) Cuthbertson

December 21, 1944 — July 30, 2012

Ms. Shirley Mae Medley Cuthbertson, 67 of Monroe, NC formerly of Anson County, NC died Monday, July 30, 2012 at Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC.  Funeral Services will be held 12 noon Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Greater Blessed Hope Baptist Church, 3607 Andrew Jackson Dr., Waxhaw, NC with Entombment to follow in the Lakeland Memorial Park Mausoleum in Monroe, NC

Ms. Cuthbertson was born December 21, 1944 in the Lanesboro Township of Anson County, NC  to the late John Henry and Sadie Lee Boggan Medley. Educated in the Public Schools of Anson County she was an Alumnist of East Polkton (Wildcats), she was married to the late Robert Cuthbertson, Jr. into this Union Four Children were born and  she was employed by Tamarind Sportswear in Union County until its closing, a faithful member of the Greater Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Waxhaw, NC and Prior to Blessed Hope she was  a member of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church in Monroe, NC for 15 years where she served as President of the Gospel Chorus and also a member of the "Red Hat Club".  She was also preceeded in death by two Grandchildren Willis Reynard McLendon and William Henry Reynolds-Collins.

She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories her children, Rosalyn L. Williams (Maurice) of Stone Mountain, GA. Mark V. Culbertson of Sacramento, CA, Angela S. Collins(Otis) and Rita Culbertson both of Monroe, NC ; Nine Grandchildren and Six Great-Grandchildren and a host of Nieces, Nephews and other relatives and dear friends.

Public viewing will be held Friday, August 3, 2012, 11am to 7pm at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC
