Shirley Ann (Gaither) Morrison

July 12, 1947 — January 5, 2013

Mrs. Shirley Ann Gaither Morrison, 65 of Weddington, NC,  died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.  Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, NC Hwy 16 (Providence Rd.) Waxhaw, NC, with Rev. Phillip Andrew Morrison, her son, eulogist,  with Burial to follow in the Church Cemetery.  Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC  is in charge.

She was born  July 12, 1947 in Union County, NC, to the late Samuel Thomas Gaither and Lucille Massey Gaither. Shirley was the oldest of five children.  She was a former member of Langford Chapel CME Church,  presently a devoted member of Mt. Pisgah, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Missionary Department Secretary, Church Librarian, Sunday School Secretary and head of Vacation Bible School, not to mention Deaconess also.  Shirley was a 1965 graduate of Winchester High School.  She loved the Lord with all her heart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son and daughter and her brother, Larry D. Gaither.

Those left to cherish her loving memory are her husband, Thomas Levi Morrison; her children, Patrick Keith Morrison, Rev. Phillip Andrew Morrison and Latisha Ann Morrison, all of the home; one sister, Bessie Gaither of Georgia; two brothers, Samuel "Steve" (Ethelene) Gaither of Georgia and David Gaither of Monroe, NC; four god-children; Katelyn and Nathan McDow of Weddington, NC and Alexandria and Takara Morrison of Monroe, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins and other relatives and dear friends.
