Shirley Delores Nixon-Allen

​MRS. SHIRLEY DELORES NIXON-ALLEN, 57 of MONROE, NC passed away Monday, December 25, 2017 at CHS-Union in Monroe, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Harris Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Monroe, NC.

Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Monroe, NC.  A public viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Harris Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Monroe, NC.

Shirley was born on Saturday, April 2, 1960, in Union County, NC.  She was the daughter of the late Wendell  P. Nixon and Vinnie L. Nixon.

She was fully dedicated to the health care field.  She spent her career at Plantation Estates and Hospice of Union County.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a beloved son, Reginald Lamont Chambers.

She leaves to cherish loving memories to her husband, Billy Ray Allen of the home; three sons, Phillip D. Nixon, Roderick A. Nixon (Al) and Stewart D. Chambers Sr.; two daughters, Chamda D. Allen of Charlotte, NC and Debbie Allen ofH Monroe, NC; 16 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; five sisters, Edna M. Chambers (Kenny), Tressa A. Quinn, Carrie N. Shaw(Bobby), Tiney Blakney (Roger), Catrain L. Hammonds (Irvin), all of Monroe, NC; two brothers, Johnny Staton (Johnnie) and Lee Staton (Louise), all of Monroe, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Shirley also known as the "Kid", was a loving and caring person who touched many.  Always words of wisdom and encouragement.  A great mother,aunt, grandmother, sister, and friend, will be truly missed.  Shirley was full of life and there was never a dull moment.  She transistioned to dictate her life to being a baptized Jehovah's witness.
